Systems Engineer

The ideal candidate requires in-depth familiarity with MS Windows application architecture, WIN32 device drivers, Visual C and C++. Extensive understanding of Internet communications and standards, including HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, whois, SMTP, IRC and other common protocols used on the Internet. Responsible for developing, implementing and supporting security solutions including but not limited to: malware detection and defense; bot-net technology; and antiphishing processes. This position will lead a cross functional team to architect and develop the next generation Internet security products. We work extensively with law enforcement agencies world aide to stop and prevent Internet crime on behalf of our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle departmental technical projects to completion
  • Provide day-to-day support for troubleshooting applications as needed
  • Install OS for UNIX/Linux and Windows
  • Provide off hours support on a rotational basis
  • Implement software upgrades.
  • Provide hardware/software support to staff
  • Respond to monitoring alerts and carry out troubleshooting as needed

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong Linux background ( Knowledge of Red Hat and Gentoo Linux)
  • Familiarity with system administration tools and processes such as booting/shutting down a machine, adding or removing user accounts, using backup programs and fsck, and maintaining system database files (groups, hosts, aliases)
  • Apache administration, Tomcat / Jboss,
  • Troubleshooting of OS and application problems.
  • Troubleshooting of networking problems (from an OS level)
  • Linux Volume Management experience
  • Ability to write system documentation and detailed technical and/or functional specifications
  • Strong troubleshooting, decision-making and problem-solving skills .
  • Hands-on experience monitoring, building and troubleshooting Unix/Windows Operating Systems.
  • Familiarity with Networking/Security technologies (Ethernet, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN).
  • Experience with internet technologies (Apache, DNS, TCP/IP).
  • Experience with monitoring tools
  • 2+ years Internet/Internet security experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • 3 years experience with Linux administration
  • Bachelors Degree in CS or equivalent work experience
