Charlie Abrahams

Charlie is a recognized and energetic executive with an established record of creating a strong European presence for leading global technology companies. His experience includes re-building and running the EMEA organization for Network General Corporation after its divesture from Network Associates, during which he grew the organization’s revenue significantly. Previously, he was hired by Plumtree Software (later acquired by BEA) to create the European business from scratch, signing on Global 100 customers and adding consulting services. Abraham’s prior experience also includes executive positions at Amdahl Corporation, IBM and Burroughs Machines. Based in London, Abrahams has a Master’s degree with honours in economics and sociology from Cambridge University and held a scholarship to King Edward’s School in Birmingham.

Heather is an Enterprise Domain Consultant within our Professional Services team, leading many of our Domain Advisory Service projects. She has over 10 years of experience in the domain name and online brand protection industries, working in the consulting, data analysis and portfolio management fields. Heather has personally managed Fortune 100 domain portfolios and is currently helping clients develop registration strategies and budget estimates for the new gTLD program.

Akino is a Brand Protection Product Marketing Manager for the MarkMonitor AntiFraud solutions. She started her career in public relations and marketing in London and has worked in Europe, Asia and the United States. She has led and served interim roles in global marketing strategies, product marketing, events management, public relations, corporate communications and regional marketing. Akino holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University College of London, a Master of Science from the London School of Economics, and has trilingual fluency in English, Italian and Japanese.

Elisa is Vice President of Product Marketing for MarkMonitor. With over 12 years of domain name industry experience, she is an expert in the field of online brand protection and domain name management. Elisa has worked closely with many Fortune 1000 companies in assisting with domain and brand protection policy development. She has spoken and written extensively on these topics and is currently the Chair of ICANN’s Business Constituency, and an active member of the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition and the Online Trust Alliance.

Kiran is the Internet Policy Counselor for MarkMonitor. Kiran represents the interests of MarkMonitor clients at ICANN, INTA and IACC. She is a trademark attorney with experience in international and domestic trademark prosecution, litigation and brand protection counseling. Prior to completing her law degree at American University in Washington, DC, Kiran worked in the twin fields of advertising and marketing, where she honed her skills in brand development and protection.

Chris is the gTLD Program Manager for MarkMonitor. With over nine years of experience, he is an expert in TLD operations, having supported the New gTLD Program, TLD launches, domain portfolio research and domain name management. In his time at MarkMonitor, Chris has worked on multiple New gTLD applications, led teams of operations specialists that provided global ccTLD support and client-related research projects, executed the on-boarding process for several Fortune 1000 companies’ large ccTLD domain name portfolios, managed the full .CO [Colombia] launch from liberalization to general availability and delivered various other TLD-related support services.

Alison has managed all aspects of Corporate Domain Management including domain registration, domain maintenance, and domain strategy and implementation.

From launching innovative companies like Zone Labs and Netflix to growing market share at established software leaders like Lotus Development Corp., Te has honed her skills in branding, public relations and demand generation.

Anne Gilson LaLonde

Anne Gilson LaLonde, Guest Contributor

Anne is the author of Gilson on Trademarks, a multi-volume treatise on United States trademark law. Anne holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Princeton University and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School after serving as Book Review Editor of the Michigan Law Review. She practiced at Sidley & Austin in Washington, D.C. in its Litigation Practice Group before her judicial clerkship in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. She has worked on the treatise since 1999 and took over from her father, Jerry Gilson, in 2006.
