Charlie Abrahams

Charlie Abrahams is a recognized and energetic executive with an established record of creating a strong European presence for leading global technology companies. His experience includes re-building and running the EMEA organization for Network General Corporation after its divesture from Network Associates, during which he grew the organization’s revenue significantly. Previously, he was hired by Plumtree Software (later acquired by BEA) to create the European business from scratch, signing on Global 100 customers and adding consulting services. Abraham’s prior experience also includes executive positions at Amdahl Corporation, IBM and Burroughs Machines. Based in London, Abrahams has a Master’s degree with honours in economics and sociology from Cambridge University and held a scholarship to King Edward’s School in Birmingham.

She has over 10 years of experience in the domain name and online brand protection industries, working in the consulting, data analysis and portfolio management fields. Heather has personally managed Fortune 100 domain portfolios and is currently helping clients develop registration strategies and budget estimates for the new gTLD program.

She has spoken and written extensively on these topics and is an active member of ICANN’s Business Constituency, the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition and the Online Trust Alliance.

Frederick Felman’s career in marketing enterprise and security technology and services spans 25 years. At MarkMonitor, he is responsible for defining and promoting the company’s brand protection product offerings. Frederick and his team created the Brandjacking Index™, an often-cited measure of the trends in online abuse targeting the world’s largest brands. As part of the MarkMonitor commitment to securing brands online, Frederick leads advocacy initiatives for brandholders’ rights that intersect Internet governance. Before joining MarkMonitor, Frederick was Vice President of Products and Marketing at Zone Labs, which was acquired by Check Point Technologies.

Kiran Malancharuvil is the Internet Policy Counselor for MarkMonitor. Kiran represents the interests of MarkMonitor clients at ICANN, INTA and IACC. She is a trademark attorney with experience in international and domestic trademark prosecution, litigation and brand protection counseling. Prior to completing her law degree at American University in Washington, DC, Kiran worked in the twin fields of advertising and marketing, where she honed her skills in brand development and protection.

Mike Monzon is a Senior Director of Product Marketing at MarkMonitor. Mike has over 15 years of experience servicing a variety of enterprise corporations, specializing in software & Internet companies. Prior to joining MarkMonitor, Mike worked for a number of security companies including Symantec where he was responsible for the global launch of their Enterprise Security solutions. Mike also worked as a part of Ernst & Young’s specialty consulting practice where he managed their enterprise security and compliance engagements.

Chris Niemi is the gTLD Program Manager for MarkMonitor. With over nine years of experience, he is an expert in TLD operations, having supported the New gTLD Program, TLD launches, domain portfolio research and domain name management. In his time at MarkMonitor, Chris has worked on multiple New gTLD applications, led teams of operations specialists that provided global ccTLD support and client-related research projects, executed the on-boarding process for several Fortune 1000 companies’ large ccTLD domain name portfolios, managed the full .CO [Colombia] launch from liberalization to general availability and delivered various other TLD-related support services.

Prior to MarkMonitor, Mary held various senior marketing positions at technology companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and was an engagement manager with A.T. Kearney and Quattro Consulting.

Alison holds an undergraduate degree in Marketing from San Jose State University.

Anne Gilson LaLonde

Anne Gilson LaLonde, Guest Contributor

Anne Gilson LaLonde is the author of Gilson on Trademarks, a multi-volume treatise on United States trademark law. Anne holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Princeton University and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School after serving as Book Review Editor of the Michigan Law Review. She practiced at Sidley & Austin in Washington, D.C. in its Litigation Practice Group before her judicial clerkship in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. She has worked on the treatise since 1999 and took over from her father, Jerry Gilson, in 2006.
